A Better Way to Get Your Chocolate Fix…Chocolate Chia Pudding

You may have heard of chia pudding. Yes the chia pet seed that is touted for its health properties in the media. This is my version for those who want a chocolate treat and still limit excessive fat, sugar, and salt. A chocolate fix.

This recipe makes a cup of pudding. A half cup serving is about 177 calories. Less fat of your 280 calories of home style chocolate pudding.

Add more maple syrup if you want and can have more sweetener. It has a texture of tapioca pudding.

Almond Chocolate Chia Pudding

1 cup unsweetened almond milk 4 tablespoons chia seeds 2 tablespoons organic powdered cocoa nibs (we used Nativa) 1 tablespoon organic maple syrup a couple of drops almond extract (or any other flavour you enjoy that pairs with chocolate.

Whisk together and place in the fridge overnight.

A textured chocolate pudding next day.

It may be ready in 4 plus hours if you can’t wait.
